The Master’s Program organizes routine activities every semester, namely “Non-SKS Workshop” which must be followed by all master students. In 2021-2022, the Masters Program has carried out 3 activities, namely Experimental Research Method Workshops, Interpretative Phenomenological Qualitative Research Methods and Workshops on Advanced Scientific Writing Techniques.
Research is a work method or problem solving method that is carried out in a planned and careful manner with the aim of obtaining facts and conclusions in order to understand, explain, predict, and control the situation. Conducting research and then publishing it in the form of a journal is a prerequisite for UNDIP Psychology Masters students when they want to complete their studies. Producing quality scientific work not only requires good writing skills, a comprehensive understanding of research methodology is one of the important elements that support the creation of quality publications.
Two methods were introduced in two non-credit workshops, namely the Experimental Research Methods Workshop and the Interpretative Phenomenological Approach Research Method Workshop. This understanding of experimental research design and interpretative phenomenological qualitative approach adds insight to master’s students to assist in conducting quality research, both as part of working on assignments, writing articles and final projects (thesis).
Next, master’s students are expected not only to be able to conduct research properly and systematically, but also to be required to then publish it in the form of a journal which is a prerequisite for UNDIP Psychology Masters students when they want to complete their studies. Producing quality scientific work not only requires good writing skills, a comprehensive understanding of methodology and data analysis in research are several elements that support the creation of quality publications. It is hoped that this advanced scientific writing technique workshop can have a positive impact on the emergence of publications, improve skills in carrying out quality research and student productivity in making scientific articles.
The whole activity of this non-credit workshop is to support the achievement of quality education as an indicator of the achievement of the SDGs.
